Seat zones & the pricing matrix
How zones and ticket types combine into a price matrix — and how “Not for sale” differs from free.
Seated events price differently. Instead of one price per ticket type, price is set by a matrix: every ticket type crossed with every seat zone.
The two ingredients
| Ingredient | What it is |
|---|---|
| Zones (seat categories) | Areas defined by name and color only — Front, Middle, Balcony. |
| Ticket types | Buyer-facing types — Adult, Student, Member. No single price on seated events. |
The pricing matrix
“Not for sale” vs a price of 0
Price 0 is free but still sellable. Not for sale disables that combination entirely (e.g. Students may not sit in the Front).
How buyers experience it
- 1
Pick quantities
They choose how many of each ticket type.
- 2
Place on seats
They tap seats on the map; price is looked up from the matrix by zone + type.
Good to know
Browsing shows a “From {cheapest}” label from the lowest active cell. Prices stay editable after sales — only the layout locks.
