Enabling assigned seating

Turn on assigned seating so buyers pick exact seats — and understand what changes.

STAGE

Assigned seating lets buyers choose their exact seat during checkout, and prints the seat label on every ticket. Ideal for theatres, galas, sporting venues and any event with fixed places.

Heads up

The seating toggle (on the Tickets page) can be switched only while the event is a draft. Once published or sold, seating is locked — decide before you go live.

What changes when you enable it

  1. 1

    Seats replace plain quantity

Availability comes from the seat map, not a number on each ticket type.

  2. 2

    Pricing becomes a matrix

Price depends on the seat zone the buyer chooses.

  3. 3

    Checkout gains a seat step

Buyers choose quantities, then place each ticket onto a specific seat.

What you’ll need to build

  • A seat map — the visual layout of your venue.
  • Seat zones — colored price categories assigned to seats.
  • A pricing matrix — price for each ticket type in each zone.

Good to know

On-site POS selling isn’t available for seated events, since seat selection needs the interactive map. See POS limitations.
