Creating an event step by step

A walkthrough of the event creation wizard — details, tickets, seating and your first publish.

Events are created with a short wizard that collects everything needed for a public event page. New events start as drafts — nothing is visible to buyers until you publish.

The four steps

  1. 1

    Event details

Title, slug (the URL handle), description and a cover image — the hero visual used everywhere.

  2. 2

    Date & location

Start/end date and time, plus the venue or address. For online events, describe access in the description.

  3. 3

    Tickets & products

Define ticket types, optional add-on products, and toggle assigned seating if buyers should pick exact seats.

  4. 4

    Review & create

Check the summary and create. You land on the event’s own dashboard as a draft.

Good to know

After creation, tickets and products are managed on the event dashboard’s Tickets page — so that step only appears when creating a new event.

After creation

  • Refine tickets and pricing on the Tickets page.
  • Design the public page under Storefront.
  • Build the seat map under Seating (if enabled).
  • Publish when ready.

Can I change things after publishing?

Yes — most details stay editable. See Editing an event after creation.

Why is publishing blocked?

Usually missing pricing or an unfinished seat map. See Why can’t I publish my event?
