Statement descriptors

Set what buyers see on their card statement so charges are recognizable — and you get fewer disputes.

A statement descriptor is the text a buyer sees on their statement next to your charge. A clear one prevents confusion and reduces chargebacks.

Good to know

Set it in Settings → Payments. The setting appears once your account is active, because it’s stored on your live payment account.

Writing a good descriptor

  • Use a name buyers recognize — your brand, venue or event series.
  • Keep it short — card networks limit descriptor length.
  • Stay consistent across events so repeat buyers always know it’s you.

Tip

If a buyer doesn’t recognize a charge, point them to the descriptor and share their order confirmation — handle genuine mistakes with a refund rather than a dispute.
